I'm sure u guys have heard or read about the Aware saga. After all, it is the most published about incident these days. For those who don't know what's going on, here's a summary.
The organisation is made out of two sides: The Old guard and the New guard. After the newly appointed leader unexpectedly quits after about a week, the New guard calls for another election and what-do-you-know....they win the majority of the seats. They are now currently in power of the organisation. As for the Old guard, most of them have been kicked aside.
Now, the reason why I am paying attention to this saga is becos of ONE important factor. RELIGION. Most of the exco come from the same church and what's more, the person who mentored the takeover is none other than Thio Su Mien. Go read up about her. She claims that Aware has become a pro-gay organisation just becos they allowed a movie containing lesbian characters and gave men the right to vote in the organisation. I can only say: I am appalled.
Now I can only hope that things will change for the better. The best case scenario? The old guard takes back what was rightfully theirs. And the new guard just disappears.
